Books, Brunch & Mimosas was founded by Miss Candice, an author known for redefining Black romance through stories that embody love, healing, and authenticity. The first chapter of the event debuted on August 5, 2023, as a soft launch that set the foundation for something much bigger.
What began as a simple idea for a personal meet and greet quickly evolved into a movement. Miss Candice wanted to create a space that went beyond the traditional book convention — something intimate, elegant, and rooted in the essence of Black girl luxury.
In the world of urban and Black romance, most events focus heavily on book sales and signings. While those gatherings serve their purpose, Books, Brunch & Mimosas was created to offer something more: a refined, soulful experience where authors and readers can genuinely connect.
Each Books, Brunch & Mimosas event is designed to exude class, grace, and intimacy. It’s not just about books; it’s about the experience. Readers and authors come together to bond, laugh, and celebrate the beauty of Black stories over good food, good music, and bottomless mimosas.

Upon arrival, guests will be greeted with a variety of bottomless mimosas and refreshments to choose from. The first half hour is reserved for mingling & photo opp’s!
